No-scar alar relocation

What is a boxy nose?

A boxy nose is when your nose alar is wide and flat, giving you a dull or square nose shape.

There are many types of boxy noses: when tissue itself in the nose alar is thick, when cartilage of nose tip is spread out, or when the nostril near the nose alar is wide. A boxy nose is over 1/5 of facial width and when seen from underneath, its tip gives very dull and flabby image with a dull trapezoid shape.

Surgery must be performed after considering various components including reduction in the width of nose alar, shape of nose hole, ratio of nose alar in face, and shape of nose tip. It is important method is chosen carefully so that scars that are seen from outside is minimal

What is Laprin no-scar alar relocation?

A nose alar relocation surgery, without any incision.

In Asian noses, the alar tends to be go wide to the sides of the nose creating a flat shape. When correcting this type of nose, it is crucial to take into account many factors such as thickness of the skin, shape of the cartilage, width of the nose alar and shape of the nostril.

Conventional nose alar reduction makes incision outside, dissects tissue from the nose alar, and then sutures it. Laprin, with its original surgical method, does not make incision to the outside. It makes a micro-incision 1.2 mm inside the nostril, through which periosteum and ligament connected to wide nose alar is exfoliated and relocated. Therefore, it is different from nose alar reduction that simply makes incision and shows a definite reduction without a scar.

To correct a boxy shaped nose, simple incision is not the answer.

It is important to rearrange and relocate portions of the alar.

Why choose no-scar nose alar relocation?

Nose alar reduction with no exposed scar

The most serious problem in conventional nose alar reduction is that it leaves a scar exposed to the outside due to incision which is done at the margin between chin and alar. Such worry about scars made many people hold back even though they received a lot of stress for their dull and wide nose.

Dismal effect as the reduction is mainly focused on lower part of nose alar
Scarring that can be seen from outside due to long excision at the margin between nose alar and chin
Weird nose hole and nose alar as only lower part of nose alar is reduced
Not applicable if nose alar is too wide
Permanent reduction of 5~7mm in width including lower part of nose alar
No scar exposed to outside
Nose alar is reduced on the whole, creating a natural nose hole and nose alar
Can be applied to any type of alar

Think of overall proportion and balance

As each person differs in facial line and facial proportion, surgery must be performed after studying width of nose and shape of nose tip that best suits your face in order to achieve more satisfactory result. Performing all surgeries identically can create an unnatural result, which is the main cause of revision surgery.

Laprin makes surgery plan based on in-depth analysis on the individual to create a nose with balance and harmony to overall face. Customized surgery can create more natural and beautiful nose alar, thereby giving you more prominent improvement to your image.

Definite and permanent reduction result

Nose alar is tightly fixed to the ligament and periosteum tissue located on the face. Such fixed tissue enables the alar to maintain its width and shape. Conventional nose alar reduction can only give minimal results of 1~2mm as it is proceeded without extra foliation of tissue and after some time passes, there is chance of the alar going back to original state.

As Laprin performs the surgery after exfoliating the periosteum and the ligament connected to alar, it produces more dramatic results of a 5-7mm reduction. Including overtly wide and dull alars, it can be applied to various types of alar more efficiently.
